Making the world better
and more beautiful

We are an award-winning architecture and design studio based in London, recognised for our thoughtful and exceptional designs.

Since its founding in 2014 by DaeWha Kang, our studio has been guided by a simple yet profound belief: design should serve both beauty and purpose.

Our work emerges from a thoughtful dialogue between heritage, nature, and technology.

WHAT WE DO

Working seamlessly between architecture, urban design, and interiors, our projects break new ground on adaptive reuse, design for wellbeing and sustainability, and are driven by a commitment to enrich how people live, work, and engage with the world around them. By combining biophilic principles, adaptive reuse expertise, and future-focused solutions, we create spaces that are responsive to context, purposeful in function, and deeply rooted in human experience.

cOLLABORATION

Collaboration is at the heart of our practice — with engineers, builders, landscape and environmental specialists.

We act as advocates for our clients, working hand-in-hand with them to deeply understand their needs and deliver real value.

RECENT WORK

Across the UK and internationally, including the Middle East and Asia, our recent projects include the Black Gold Museum in Riyadh, opened in 2026; the courtyard and pavilion at The OWO in London, winner of a RIBA London Award in 2026; the exhibition design for In Bloom at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, where we are now designing their next exhibition; and a biophilic Living Lab workspace at The Shard, designed to study the impact of nature-inspired design on wellbeing.

Recognition

Our work has received international recognition, including RIBA London Awards in 2026 and 2024, the British Institute of Interior Design Awards in 2024, and the LIV Hospitality Design Awards in 2023, among others — the Building Beauty Awards, the Korea Ministry of Land Award for Adaptive Reuse, and the American Architecture Prize. Each project reflects our enduring commitment: to create spaces that are uplifting, purposeful, and deeply attuned to the people and places they serve.

OUR TEAM

Our team is held together by its collective belief in the studio mission - design can have a profound and positive impact on the world.

DaeWha Kang

DaeWha founded the studio with the belief that design can lift the spirit, challenge the intellect, and strengthen body and mind. He has spent the last twenty-five years studying, designing, and building architecture around the world. He is a dreamer and a long-term thinker, but is also deeply committed to the craft of architecture and loves making those dreams into reality. DaeWha has extensive experience delivering complex projects, whether in the most challenging historical context or dealing with large-scale budgets and multiple stakeholders. He is a thought leader in the industry, giving talks at conferences around the world.

Michal Wojtkiewicz

Michal spent ten years building and designing projects for Zaha Hadid before joining DaeWha Kang Design. He has passion and expertise in all aspects of the design process, from conceptualisation and formfinding to fine detailing and the execution of the final product. Michal has been leading design and technical development on projects such as Paju Farm City, Peak House, the Climate Change – All Change initiative, and some of our iconic London buildings. Michal gives back to the design community through his teaching and giving talks on sustainable design.

Monika Bilska

Monika is an architect with over ten years of experience in designing and delivering projects of all scales in the UK and abroad. Her main interest is sustainability and impact of built environment on the ecosystem and the human mind and body. Monika specialises in working with natural and healthy building materials and implementing principles of Circular Economy into architecture and product design.

Laura Dinares

In her years working with the studio, Laura has had extensive experience managing and designing projects from small scale residential to buildings and master plans. She has a particular expertise in working in historical context, having leadership roles in St Andrew Holborn church and other complex Grade I and II listed buildings in the UK. Laura is deeply motivated by the impact of her work on people, whether through design on our master planning projects or through the day to day management of our team, our clients, and our consultants.

Eduardo Camarena

Eduardo has ten years of experience working in projects in the UK and abroad. He gained a strong interest in design and concept develpment during his years in Zaha Hadid Architects, where his work focused on the design development and early stages of projects across the globe. His interdisciplinary approach to design has translated into projects of different scales, design of products such as chairs or jewelry and recently the development of metaverse spaces.

Farzad Lee

During his time in the studio, Farzad has gained a broad experience contributing to designs of varied scales and programmes, including public and commercial buildings, as well as small scale residential. Some of Farzad’s key projects include St. John’s Smiths Square, a refurbishment of a Grade I Listed concert hall in London, as well as the Black Gold Museum - conversion of an iconic library into a modern art museum.

Lisa Hinderdael

Lisa is an operations and finances manager at DaeWha Kang Design, overseeing administrative part of projects acquisition and delivery.
Prior to joining DaeWha Kang Design, Lisa was operations partner at Design Haus Liberty where she was responsible for the running of both the architecture and lighting business and the studio expansion from 3-25 employees alongside the satellite office in Hong Kong.
