There is a lot of text about harvesting rice. Not in water. AGRI – CULTURE city.

Art and culture + agriculture and culture. Public art, land art. Merging with farming. What are the relationships people can have with culture, with farming, with art, with books?

Could we have an AGRI – CULTURE centre? Instead of a Book Center / Culture Center, let’s look at how we lead. Model farming? Advanced farming? International conferences happen here. Learning centre.

Farming beyond industrial. Soil retaining more water. More nutrients. Artists can get involved. Sustainable farming techniques. Ongoing studies, technology: not to be patronising but to be advanced. How we name the centre would be important. If these are farmers, we need to be careful about how this comes off. “I’ve been farming for decades and my family before me–who are you to tell me how to do it?”

Also, not just models but also experimental farming. Weronika: super organic farming? Healthy food? Simple deliveries. The labs and hubs could be pavilions in the nature, and maybe they could be multi-functional. How we could feel within nature and within farm–the whole site as a lab rather than just one centre.

Self-sustained city. Zero carbon city. Energy: solar energy and wind energy. Environmentally appropriate way of generating energy. Hydro + Solar can work together. Daytime solar, pump water up the water.

Food waste into compost? Greywater used for irrigation? Water source heat pumps from the river, potentially?

Adrian and the re-wilding project.

Laura saw in el Pais that South Korea is one of the countries where the population is most worried about climate change. (Something like 3rd most worried). It’s a highly educated nation.

Michal: Gyeongju : harmony with landscape is a big thing in Korean tradition.

Farming research to show some of the sustainable practices.
