Introduction

Plato described the night as a black sphere punctuated with tiny holes through which the light of the universe shined to give us our starry heavens. Made from laser etched silvered glass, these pieces explore the physical embodiment of light in space. Mirrored surfaces reflect the world as it is, but as we carve away at that familiar reality, we reveal an overwhelming universal luminosity that comes from somewhere beyond.

“And all the threads of light that connect the stars in the heavens twist around a central spindle, quietly turned by the three fates.” (Republic, Plato)
